Their most important characteristics are that some are as long as 37 feet tall. Crystals stick out of the walls, floors, and anywhere you can think of. After years of research, scientists found out how the crystals here grew so big and large. The Naica Mountain was formed as a result of volcanic activity about 26 million years ago. The magma, which was saturated with a mineral known as anhydrite dissolved with the mineral that crystals are made out of to produce tiny crystals. Also, the temperature gets up to 112 degrees Fahrenheit. The deeper you go the hotter it gets. If you don't have oxygen tank for 10 minutes you can suffocate. Scientists have to put on special gear to go into the caves. I really enjoyed this article because I never knew all that information about crystals and how beautiful they can be!

The crystals in the caves where formed by magma which was saturated with a mineral called anhydrite. When anhydrite is mixed with gypsum the tiny crystals are created. Those tiny crysltals have grown into giant crystals due to time and extreme hot temperatures in high humidity inside of the caves. The caves look like it is very cold inside of them, but in fact the temperature can reach 112 degrees Fahrenheit and humidity is 80-90%. The cave of crystals was discovered accidently in 2000 and it is located 1,000 feet below the surface. Inside of the cave there are over 170 of the largest crystals ever found. The Sword's Cave was discovered over 100 years ago, it gets its name from sword like crystals coming out from the walls. Candles Mine Cave contains the most amazing candle-like structures formed on top of the gypsum crystals. Queens Cave was found in 2000. The cave gets its name from it's eye -like appearance

It was discovered by two miners that were digging a tunnel. Inside the caves the temperature can reach up to 112 degrees farenheit and 80-90% humidity. It is located 1,000 feet below ground. I would like to visit it someday.

In the caves there are over 170 crystals that are natures largest crystals. These crystals were formed by a mineral called anhyrite and dissolved by a mineral called gypsum. Because of the hot and humid temperature in the caves the crystals grew and thrived an amazing amount of level. In fact because of the temperature the scientist have to wear clothing such as masks, coats that cool them off and a backpack. But that does not stop them from observing the most amazing crystals in the world. These crystals look like giant blocks of ice that reach to the ceiling and weigh a big amount too. And someday maybe everyone will also be able to see these truly amazing crystal caves.
- Clarissa M13년 이상The Crystal Caves Of Chihuahua has many fascinating characteristics. The tallest crystal is 37 feet and weighs 55 tons. They were made by magma and gypsum. The temperature in the cave exceeds 112 degrees Fahrenheit. There are many types of different types of crystals in this cave. This sounds like a interesting place to visit, I would love to visit one day!
