Today, millions of Hindus, Sikhs and Jains all over the world will celebrate Diwali. Also known as Deepavali or the Festival of Lights it is one of the most eagerly awaited and widely celebrated festivals of India.

artemis1212년 이상My family celebrates Diwali too. But did you know that Diwali is also celebrated by the Sikh religion. It commemorates when our guru, or saint, Guru Har Gobind Ji saved innocent people for the jail of the cruel mugal rulers. he convinced the guards to let the people go. the trick was that Guru Ji could only take out the men who held onto the two corners of his cape. The next day he came back with a cape that had 52 corners on it ,one for each man. That is why the Sikhs celebrate Diwali.
