Why does the sky go dark at night? You are all probably thinking that this is a question even a kindergartner can answer - The simple answer and the one that is pretty obvious is that as the Earth rotate on its axis it moves away from the sun and therefore, causes the skies to go dark. Sounds logical to us but what about the zillions of sparkly stars? Why don't they pitch in and make the sky all shiny?

The reason the night sky is dark is our distance from the nearest stars (over 4 light years) which would be as bright as our sun (93 million miles) if they were not over 2500 times further away and only the brightness of a star, not the sun.

Yes - the complex system of astronomy: the study of celestial objects & phenomena that occur within the Earth's atmosphere. Isn't the concept of a enlarging universe quite inconceivable? I too, have been boggled by this inquiry for a tedious length of time.

i finished this on the first paragraph. the reason the stars dont make the sky "shiny" is because they're millions of miles away.
