Germination, the process through which plants disperse seeds so that they can sprout and grow into new plants can be a little tricky, given that plants are immobile. Some like dandelions use wind, others by growing prickly fruits that stick to the fur or spine of animals. Then there are those that yield sweet fruit that animals seek out and devour. However, in order for that to work successfully, those plants have to get it really right!

I think that nature is so “smart” because it uses an incredible way to make living things continue to reproduce.

3 things I learned are that the plant's seeds are spicy and the fruit is yummy and the seeds are not, and that the fruits resemble blackberries.

Cool! plants use fruit that they make for animals to disperse thier seeds. When an animal bites into the seeds its like a hot mustard napalm(fire bomb). The animals spit out the seeds because it tastes gross and if they don't it comes out in the POOP because it's indigestible.

First of all I learned that the sweet mignonette makes yummy fruits that resemble blackberries. Secondly I learned that scientists call the tiny seeds "mustard bombs". Last of all I learned that scientists call the seeds mustard bombs because once a mouse bites it, it releases an enzyme forcing the mouse to spit the seeds out.

I first learned that Sweet Mignonette produces a little fruit that's like a blackberry. I also learned that the seeds in a "blackberry" scientist call "mustard bombs". Last but not least I learned that these are called "mustard bombs" because when a mouse bites into one, it releases a enzyme that taste a lot like hot mustard. That's what I learned.
