In this article it explains that they are building greenhouses over the Sahara Desert. This idea has been proposed since 2008. In 2008, when Norway'sYara International ASA and the Qatar Fertilizer Company came together to make $5.3 million needed to build the project.The Sahara Desert is by the ocean, so they will pump the saltwater and make it freshwater to water the plants. If it works, they will be able to start doing all around the Sahara Desert helping people get fresh food.
