However, finding the world's largest invertebrate in its natural habitat had proved a little elusive. Now, thanks to some patient Japanese researchers, we can all finally get a glimpse of this magnificent cephalopod!

The scientist found the squid in the Pacific Ocean and it is so amazing that it took 400 hours and 100 trips for the man crew sitting inside the cramped submersible. Scientist Tsuenmi said the squid would be a whopping 23 feet .
