You may have encountered instances when you could have bet your life about something you had seen or done, but yet when you revisited, either the thing had vanished or the chore, left undone. If you happen to visit Ireland you may encounter the same feeling at the Loughareema Lake - However, in this case it is not your mind playing games with you, but the lake itself, which seems to sporadically appear and disappear.

I am Irish and I just want it to be known that Ireland is full of really cool stuff such as this. Not to mention the amount of legends and myths it contains! Did you know that Ireland also has its' own version of the Headless Horseman? In this story, the supposed 'Headless Horseman' was a local who was believed to be a wizard. They chased him until they finally caught him and his horse. Both were sentenced to a 'witches death'. If you look into the history of witches and wizards, you'll end up with a pretty good idea of what it was. Then there is also the story of the banshee. Every Irish family supposedly has its own Banshee. Banshee's are the depressed spirits of young, beautiful women whose lives were disturbed by disaster. If you wake up in the middle of the night and hear an ear-piercing scream and wake up the next morning with a hairbrush/comb on the floor, it means that someone in your family (including your extended, grandparents, etc.) has or is going to die in the next 24 hours. The reason for the hairbrush/comb is that Banshee's are selfconscious and vain. They do be found brushing their hair when they are struck nby a vision of death. Yet it does not always have to be death! Sometimes it can be disaster or tradegy coming to someone in your family, although it usually isn't the one who heard the scream or found the brush! So there's some Irish myths for ya! add a '*DONUTS*' at the end of your comment and I'll try to post another myth as soon as possible!
