On Thursday, November 7th, 2013, exactly a month after it began its extensive travel schedule, the Sochi Olympics torch will embark on the longest leg of its 40,000-mile relay - a trip to the International Space Station aboard the Soyuz spacecraft along with three new crew members: Russia's Mikhail Tyurin, NASA's Rick Mastracchio and Japan's Koichi Wakata.

I can see that this is a very important event for Russia. I cant believe they are taking the torch to space. I think that this is 1 step closer living on the moon as we take our traditions there. Good luck Russia hope you have a save journey!

I think that is a lot of effort to go through to light the Olympic torch. It really shows how seriously we take sports.

This is a very great article, I would take the torch to a place that means something to the Olympics, me or my country. This is a great idea to stand out during the torch relay. Noarano

That's really cool, they go to so much effort for the publicity of the torch. I cant believe they are organising a spacewalk for the torch, I can see they care about the Olympic games.
