Self-healing concrete may be coming soon (Credit tudelft.nl)

Concrete has been a significant contributor to the spread of civilization. From the Pantheon built by the Romans almost 2,000 years ago to our homes today, the concoction made from water, aggregate, and cement, is why our structures can withstand the harsh elements of nature. But this seemingly indestructible material does have an Achilles' heel - The micro-cracks that form as it dries.

That is really cool that concrete uses bacteria to repair cracks. I didn't know that concrete could do that. Those pictures of the crack to watch the repair over time is really cool.

this is a good idea because when I went to Disneyland I saw a lady fall real hard and she almost broke her arm and when I went to see how big the crack was it was big so if they use this type of material then people will avoid falling and getting hurt from a big or small crack.
