What's better than the school year drawing to a close? How about a National Donut Day, which believe it or not, happens to be tomorrow, Friday, June 5th! Given that the only way to celebrate this all-important occasion is to eat donuts, you really have no choice but to devour one (or even a dozen) of the gooey treats.

On this national holiday you can eat get free donuts at Krispy Kreme and Lamar's Donuts and you can get a free donut if you buy a drink at Dunkin Donuts and Tim Horton's. These goody treats are American tradition. In the 1800's they had the same yummy treat but a little different then our yummy treat now. In the 1800's they called their treat "Oily Cakes". Residents in India has a treat like the donuts but in stead they have a savory treat called " Vada ".
