When Pluto was demoted to dwarf status in 2006, we were left with a mere eight planets in our solar system. Now Planetary Astronomy Professor Mike Brown, the researcher responsible for 'killing' Pluto may have redeemed himself with the discovery of a massive ninth planet - One he believes is worthy of being added to the elite group of eight.

but what if it wasn't a planet, but a cluster of asteroids?

not likely, look at the orbiting of planets like pluto was not a planet because it's orbit was zig zag not oval like the other planets, so if they figure out it's orbit is the the other planets, our even is it real, we never know, but i would consider your theory about asteroids though. ( i like making up thories XD)

further expanding on her idea, asteroid clusters often give off an odd gravitational pull, one that is quite unbalanced due to there being a cluster.
