The massive methane gas leak that has been plaguing some Southern California residents since October 2015 has finally been sealed. The announcement that was accompanied by the release of a time-lapse video showing infrared footage of the gas leakage coming to a complete halt was made on February 11, by Dennis Arriola, CEO of the Southern California Gas Company (SoCal Gas).

- Bill Rymer10년 이하So would someone explain why they could not lower a smaller diameter casing inside the leaking well and run it down far enough to get below the leaks. Then pump mud/cement down the inner pipe until the cement was forced part way back up and let it harden. ??? Seems far more complicated and risky to drill a second well and hunt around to penetrate the original well. Just my engineer's puzzling mind...
