Over the past few years, the art world has seen some astronomical bids for the works of famous painters. In 2015, Pablo Picasso’s Women of Algiers became the most expensive painting to be sold in an auction, after an anonymous buyer paid $179 million. That same year, a $300 million private sale of Willem de Kooning's abstract landscape Interchange broke the record for the most expensive artwork ever sold. However, both the sales pale in comparison to the $400 million paid for Leonardo da Vinci’s Salvator Mundi on November 14. The buyer also paid an additional $50.3 million to cover the auction house’s fees and taxes.

stormrider3218년 이하Dear people saying its too expensive, It's really not. Imagine you were a artist during the renaissance and were really good. The painting was lost for a long time. The longer its lost the more it is worth. Now it is found. Not only was it painted by you, a famous painter, it was lost many years ago. This was truly a fair price for that painting. These are just my thoughts, and I would like to hear your thoughts on it to. Thanks :-D
sunnyboi8년 이하It makes sense that they paid $450 million for this painting. Leonardo da Vinci actually painted it himself, and if you read the article it says that it may have been broken, lost, or forgotten, so yes it makes sense to pay that much for this painting. It is also not too much for the painting you overactive people.
