If you have been paying any attention to the news, you probably know that the US Government has been partially shut since midnight December 21, 2018. More specifically, work at nine departments, as well as some agencies making up roughly 25 percent of the federal government, has either ground to a halt or is being conducted at a slower pace because the budget to fund their day-to-day operations has not been approved by Congress. As a result, a fraction of the 800,000 employees, who are considered “non-essential,” have been furloughed, or forced to take a leave of absence. The remaining “essential” employees are expected to report for duty as usual, but will not get paid until a budget has been approved.

- mariahjordan7년 이하this is absolutely ridiculous, hundreds of thousands of people are going through such a hard time because president Trump and the democrats cannot come to a decision, they should just do the budget and whatever is left over goes to the wall. I understand that there are a ton of other things that the money could be going to but this wall could be a huge turn around for America, they need to figure this out quickly because people are going unpaid and they have family's, with the extreme inconvenience to the general public.

- i-like-pugs7년 이하Many people are suffering just because the Congress decided that they shouldn't be funded. I have a friend and her family is suffering miserably! I wish I could help, but, other than lending her money, I don't know how I could do it. I hope Congress realizes their mistake before it's too late.
