On December 31, 2019, Chinese officials announced that 27 people in Wuhan, the capital of Central China’s Hubei province, had been infected with a new strain of the coronavirus. Since then, the number of cases of the contagious affliction labeled 2019-nCoV, COVID-19, or Wuhan virus, have rapidly increased, with new cases being reported daily. On Thursday, January 30, 2020, The World Health Organization (WHO) declared the outbreak a global emergency, highlighting the urgency for a rapid coordinated international response to curb this global health risk.

Although the number of lives influenza (the flu, for short) may be more, the number the coronavirus is taking is rapidly growing. And actually, you should be scared. This means that people have been fighting well against the deadly disease, but it doesn't have the kill yet.

- c0debreaker5년 이상Guys its OK. IS going really slow. 2 months has past and only like 40,000 confirmed cases. By a year it should only be in the hundred thousands. We are in the BILLIONS so by the time we have a cure it will still be less than a million. Don't be scared. PLus you have a low chance of getting it is like 2% we are kids its old people who are getting it don't be afraid. :D

- outofmymvind5년 이상That's what you think! Maybe one tenth of the lives that are taken are children. Actually, more than 4 million people have died from this and that number is growing. Also, this virus has evolved to the point where it is almost impossible to cure. Not to ruin your day everyone, but this is all true.
