American civil rights leader and U.S. Representative John Lewis (D-GA) passed away on July 17, 2020, following a seven-month battle with pancreatic cancer. The 80-year-old dedicated his life to building what he called "The Beloved Community" in America — first as a civil rights leader and then as a lawmaker advocating, for reforms on issues from gun control to health care.

          .o. OMG sooo sad :( Jon Lewis was a reallly great role model........ I live in Georgia and I never heard about him- but he sounds amazing! Too bad he died- And also, #BLACK LIVE MATTER!!!!!! I’m sorry for those who are black people- I feel really bad- I am friends with many black kids and I’m white! And I understand them- and I hope other white people will understand you guys too! Be brave ya’ll!! Black girls and boys, don’t be scared!

                Man it's hard to explain how I feel when people don't respect people of color and this started a long time ago and it's still happening I am so thankful that people like John Louis were brave enough to stan d up for their people and fight for what's right it hurts seeing what happened to people of color in fact it's a disgrace so it's so sad seeing the struggles we have to go through to come out of our houses without thinking that Somthing will happen to us so R.I.P John Louis #BLM #Wearamask
