The ones that end up in the ocean can harm a lot of animals! These pieces of trash only end up there because of littering and old landfills that were built near the water. If less plastic waste ends up in the landfills, then less trash will end up in the ocean. Since there will be less trash in the ocean, not as many animals would get hurt.
