Scientists have discovered a new millipede species with 1,306 legs in Western Australia (Credit: P. Marek et al./Scientific Reports 2021)

The name millipede, which translates to a "thousand feet," is a bit of a misnomer. Many species of the arthropods have fewer than 100 legs, and even the record holder — the Illacme plenipes — boasts a "mere" 750 legs. Now, a team led by Virginia Tech entomologist Paul Marek has finally found the world's first "true" millipede — one with over 1,300 legs!

I find that things relatives under rocks sometimes. Millipedes are very friendly.

one time I was hiking and I picked up this big stick, and then I felt something on my arm and when I looked at my arm, there was hundreds of little ants crawling from the stick up my arm and I started freaking out and brushing off my arm and waving it around to get the ants off.

Honestly, I love big bugs, but I hate little bugs. I mean, imagine have a bunch of tiny little bugs crawling up your arm. a big bug would be easier to keep track of and less creepy feeling.
