The Champs-Élysées is an iconic Paris landmark. It connects the Arc de Triomphe and the Place de la Concorde. The 1.2-mile (1.9km) tree-lined avenue was once a popular place for locals to walk and picnic. However, it is now a tourist hotspot, filled with expensive cafes and designer shops.

- wolfgangkozuch13년 이하wouldn't reducing an 8-car lane into a 4-car lane just be worse with traffic? Even though there are fewer lanes, it doesn't mean that people would disappear. It would just up the traffic and accidents. And what if people don't have electric vehicles or bikes, then are they going to have to walk? What if somebody physically can't walk or bike and can't afford an electric car but want to go to Champs-Élysées?
- ayahoya2년 이상But the thing is that this is that they're trying to lessen air pollution and have more green in the world, not to lessen or increase traffic. I think this would be good enough for the environment that it cancels out the cons/negatives of more traffic in these lanes.
- vanessa52년 이상Thank you for mentioning this!! Reducing an 8-car lane into a 4-car lane won't remove the cars in the 4 lanes that are being removed. It'll just make traffic worse.
- averagelalfan3년 이하That's a big change.
