The powerful eruption of the Hunga Tonga-Hunga Ha'apai underwater volcano rocked the island nation of Tonga on January 15, 2022. The spectacular 13-mile-wide explosion is the largest recorded in the 21st century thus far. It expelled ash and gas plumes as high as 19 miles and triggered tsunami warnings across the Pacific.

adroit_avimimus3년 이상OMG! A 13-mile-wide explosion?! And a record breaker?! That's totally insane! And despite how dangerous it sounds, the explosion reduced the amount of methane in the air, which is very good! I hope no one or thing got hurt though! Breathing in too much ash at once can cause lung problems for living organisms, and can harm nearby plant life!
iheartpuppies3년 이상I don't think it could hurt anyone. Its underwater, and just push a ton of water up, but I don't know much about under water volcanos.
adroit_avimimus3년 이상True! But depending on how strong and underwater volcano eruption is, it could've caused a tsunami, then could potentially affect living life on land
boba_addiction3년 이상THAT IS SO INSANE!!!
iheartpuppies3년 이상Wow this is crazy! That much water, and nothing is impacted?? How do people even find this stuff out?!
iheartpuppies3년 이상I heard about this a few weeks ago! It was crazy huge! I think it could fill up 10,000 Olympic swimming pools!!
