Rig sharks make clicking sounds when handled (Credit: Paul Caiger/ CC-BY-SA-2.0/ University of Auckland)

Sharks have always been considered silent swimmers. Unlike most fish, these top ocean predators lack sound-producing organs. But recent research suggests this might not be true for all sharks. At least one species produces noise, challenging our understanding of these stealthy hunters.

I have a theory. What If the sharks didn’t know they were making sound or doing a thing because it says that sharks cannot hear the sound they are producing, and they just got nervous from being captured so they clicked there teeth together? I do that sometimes.
